Watch out for tread marks. Frank Sinatra’s daughter Nancy was out for hearts with her huge 1966 hit, “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’.” It was once called the “finest bitchy kiss-off in pop history” and was equally scandalous and sensational for its time, presenting one of the first music videos that features a woman spouting off while dancing with her pals in mini skirts and go-go boots. Somehow it even became synonymous with the Vietnam War. The song has since been covered by artists as varied as Jessica Simpson, Megadeth, Loretta Lynn, Operation Ivy and KMFDM. Nancy’s boots aren’t going nowhere.
