Boxx Magazine November 7, 2013
The Women’s International Music Network has added honorees Dinah Gretsch, Maricela Juarez, Beth Marlis and Robin Walenta to their 2014 She Rocks Awards, joining the previously announced leading ladies Sheila E and Janie L. Hendrix.
Gretsch serves as the Executive Vice President and CFO of renowned musical instrument manufacturer, The Gretsch Company, and has remained a prominent figure in music for more than thirty years. Another industry veteran, Juarez has also held a three decade career designing Seymour Duncan pickups for Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Peter Frampton and others. Marlis is currently a senior guitar faculty member and Vice President at the Musicians Institute, while Walenta acts as President and CEO of the highly successful West Music Company, and is the first women to serve on NAMM’s Executive Committee in the association’s 113 year history.
The second annual She Rocks Awards will take place January 24 during a morning ceremony for the 2014 NAMM show. A portion of the proceeds from the She Rocks Awards will be donated to the Girls Rock Camp Alliance, aiding the organization in empowering girls and women in Girls Rock Camp programs throughout the world.
